Niagara 2014 - Celebrating 15 Years

For six amazing, childless days in May, Jer and I travelled to the Niagara region in Southern Ontario to celebrate our 15th anniversary.  We chose Niagara because neither of us had ever been there, and I can honestly say we'd definitely go back!   The food was incredible, the landscape was beautiful, and the company was second-to-none :)

We spent the first and last night in Toronto - at The Blakehouse we enjoyed the MOST delicious onion rings!

Downtown Toronto

Jarvis Street Baptist Church

Some locals? wandering through the beautiful gardens.

We stayed at Two Bees Bed and Breakfast, hosted marvellously by Al and Lori.

A fort; the name escapes me.

Niagara-on-the-Lake

The Falls at night

These little turbines are used to draw cool air in from the Lake, or pull warm air down from above.

We were enlightened on the winemaking process by Paul at Chateau des Charmes.

Watching a huge ship come through "Lock Three"

A fort on the American side, and a gull diving for fish just after sunset.

Can you see the Toronto skyline?

Niagara Falls - the non-water part

Together at Niagara Falls

I was obsessed with these "Red Bud" trees.

We had a nice tour at Fort George - complete with musket demonstration.

Some random hot guy.

The Birds - Part One

2 weeks ago we discovered a little nest, only 3 feet off the ground, in a juniper bush outside of our house.  We've been observing and photographing these little ones daily with great curiosity and amazement!  They are still very dependant on their doting mother and father, but the growth over the past week has been nothing short of incredible!

We can't wait to see the changes over the next 7 days!

Photo Challenge - I Heart Faces

The June photo challenge theme over at I Heart Faces is "ALL BOY".  So naturally I felt I should submit something!    This image is one in a series I like to call "sprinkler ninjas"...

Shelane & Brant {Betrothed}

These two - and their beautiful daughter - met up with me for an engagement session on a beautiful Tuesday evening.  Their love for each other was ignited (this may be a bit of a stretch, but bear with me) by a mutual love of fish and wildlife.   The adventure continues as Shelane took the bait (Brant demonstrated his trap-seetting expertise at the session and managed to snare a beautiful baby) and now they are getting married!  {Yikes.  You may groan now.}
