Best of 2014 {Portraits}

It is definitely a highlight of my blog-year... picking some of my favourites to highlight from the family and grad sessions I photographed over the past 12 months.  I am happy to see growth in my skill as a photographer, and also humbled to see areas where I could definitely improve.

I am profoundly grateful to all of my clients who chose to allow me the privilege of capturing their sweet smiles, hugs, meltdowns, and tears.  You are what makes me smile ~

Mr. Darcee and the Froese Family {Baccalaureate}

After playing volleyball at four post-secondary institutions (and playing well, I might add), Darcee completed his accounting degree and the Froese family are celebrating with him!

The mosquitoes were abundant, but we prevailed and captured some great shots on a late August evening.  Everyone wore a shirt from each of Darcee's four colleges, and despite the occasional awkwardness that comes with a photographer asking you to sit in a way you'd never do naturally, I think everyone finished the evening with a smile on their face.

Boese {Belonging}

I was blessed with the opportunity to capture this family's beautiful smiles shortly before they started a new chapter in their lives.  Their oldest son Kanin was one of my oldest son's best friends, and our families have warmed more than one hockey bleacher together over the years!

In contrast to a cold arena, we met on a VERY warm summer evening -  they brought their ball gloves, and we hung out - shoes optional - at the local baseball diamonds.  

Jenne {Beautiful}

Jenne sparkled in her dreamy star-encrusted gown, but she would have shone in a paper bag - she's just that radiant!  

This beauty graduated top of her class, and also counted athletics and student council president in her grade twelve resume.  Her future shines with dazzling potential, whatever she chooses to do, and I wish her all the best!
